The first story in THE HUNTERS ORIGINS focuses on the team leader of the Hunters. After his unexpected discharge from the U.S. Army, Jack Cobb finds it difficult to adjust to civilian life. He flies to Florida to meet with his contacts at MacDill AFB, but he is denied entry because of the scandal that ended his military career.
Thankfully two of Cobb’s closest friends (Jonathon Payne and David Jones) come to his rescue. Braving an approaching thunderstorm and some of the worst beach music they’ve ever heard, their tales of adventure do more than cheer him up. They open Cobb’s eyes to an opportunity that will change his life forever.
NOTE This is not a full-length book. It is a short novella that takes place prior to the action of THE HUNTERS. The goal of ORIGINS is to delve into the backstory of the major characters in the Hunters series while providing clues and insight into future books and THE HUNTERS movie.

I had high hopes for this given how much I loved the other books, but it was just all about the meet-up in a restaurant. Totally unnecessary to write a whole book about it. Author could have put in more. Disappointed.Product details

Quick paced adventure. A great read.

I loved this novella!! I laughed so much and really liked all the characters. This is the first Hunters I have read but have read the Payne and Jones books.
Having read two of the Hunters novels, I was curious as to their origin. Now that my curiosity has been satisfied, I can once again embark on another Hunters adventure. Love the characters, action, plot, and fun. Chris Kuzneski has it all.
Great short story about what happened before the Hunters got together. Of course add in a dose of Payne & Jones and you get witty banter in the mix too. However I must warn you that reading this story will only make you extremely eager for the next adventure with the Hunters and Payne and Jones.
Great read. Love the way Chris blends facts forming relatiionships with the characters. Loved finding our about Cobb's background and formation into the complex man he is. Nice to see Payne and Jones a part of this formation. Quick, entertaining and a real treat for a short story.

The only bad thing I have to say about this, was that it was too short. But a little from this author is better than nothing and it's been a bit of a dry spell as we wait with bated breath his next endeavor. Loved the combination of his Payne & Jones characters joining up with Jack Cobb. Hope to see more of the characters from both series come together.
